Author and speaker Courtney Martin will be joining us to discuss the pressure that is on today’s youth to not only do everything, but to be perfect doing it. She is the author of “Perfect Girls, Starving Daughters: Quest for Perfection is Harming Young Women” which focuses on these pressures and unrealistic expectations.

**AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
    WEDNESDAY, February 23rd 7:30PM Lab Sci 300

Come for the screening of the new documentary “America the Beautiful” which exposes how America’s youth are continually buying into the message from the media and entertainment industries that, unless you look like supermodels and rock stars, you’re not good enough. In the film, Darryl Roberts, the producer, asks celebrities such as Paris Hilton and experts in cosmetics, fashion, media, and self-esteem this major question at hand.

The documentary is scheduled to be released in theaters in early May. The trailor for the documentary can be found at http://americathebeautifuldoc.com/
